GUATEMALA: Ex President Alfonoso Portillo, back to Guatemala

One of the most popular news from a couple of months ago, is that Guatemala's ex president Alfonso Portillo, is going back to the country after being incarcerated in the United States.


It,s supposed that his comeback might affect the results from 2016 elections in the country. According to the media, the most influential political parties are seeking for his support in order gain popularity, due to the fame he still has within Guatemala's working class. According to an interview made by Prensa Libre to his Ex Vice President, Portillo has almost a 60% of acceptance.


Up to this day he hasn't pronounced yet if he is going to join any specific party, but is known that he is having conversations with Edmond Mulet, a potential candidate.
